Their mother had been misled by a large bank, and instead of being offered a lifeline, she was pushed further into financial difficulties. Are you our next Head of credit?
We’re looking for a credit leader who combines technical depth with hands-on execution, strategic thinking with empathy, and a love of data with a heart for fairness. Someone who wants to help shape the future of consumer credit in Sweden - and soon, across Europe - as we embark on our exciting new chapter of our journey.
Some of the things you’ll do:
Own and optimise credit risk across the Swedish market.
Define credit strategy including expected default rates, profitability, and unit economics.
Develop and refine credit policies and underwriting criteria.
Monitor credit performance (e.g., vintage curves, IFRS9 provisioning) and implement early warning indicators.
Oversee collections and recovery strategies with an emphasis on fair customer treatment.
Lead credit-related partnerships and integrations.
Work with data scientists to build and improve AI/ML-powered credit models.
Ensure compliance with Swedish and EU regulations (e.g., Finansinspektionen, AML, GDPR).
Contribute to regulatory readiness as we become a licensed bank.
Collaborate cross-functionally to bring new products to life.
Build a scalable, automation-driven approach to risk analysis and reporting.
What we believe you bring:
5+ years of experience in credit risk, ideally in fintech, consumer lending or digital banking.
Proven ability to balance growth with responsible risk-taking.
Analytical mindset with hands-on experience in SQL, Python or R.
Familiarity with statistical modeling, credit scoring, pricing, and forecasting.
Track record in setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Passion for fairness, financial inclusion, and using data to do good.
Even better if you also have:
Experience from a credit institute, niche bank, or during a banking license process.
Worked with Open Banking/PSD2 data and alternative risk data sources.
Experience in machine learning, model governance, and performance tracking.
Led collections strategies or collaborated closely with customer operations.
Where you’ll work:
