Senior Finance Manager
About Fairlo
The story of Fairlo began when our founders, Jimmy and Shamon, saw first-hand how unfair and predatory lending practices can trap people in cycles of debt. Their mother had been misled by a large bank, and instead of being offered a lifeline, she was pushed further into financial difficulties. That injustice sparked something: to build a company that reimagines credit - rooted in transparency, flexibility, and respect. That company became Fairlo.
Where we are now
Since launching in 2018, Fairlo has helped tens of thousands of customers access responsible credit when life happens. With 40,000+ active users, a 4.7 Trustpilot rating from 4,200+ reviews, and an incredibly low churn rate, we’re proving that transparency and flexibility is not only the right thing to do - it’s a winning model.
We’re a tight team of 35 people based in Stockholm, Crete, and the UK. Backed by some of Sweden’s most experienced investors and driven by a culture that prizes kindness, courage, collaboration and common sense, we’re very proud of what we’ve built so far.
The Fairlo group currently consists of the parent company Fairlo AB, a branch in Greece (Fairlo Tech Hub Ltd), two fully owned subsidiaries: Correctia AB in Sweden and Fairlo UK Ltd in the UK. We manage the group’s accounting and payroll primarily in-house, ensuring close control and integration with our daily operations. To complement this, we work with external partners for specific needs: accounting and payroll services for our branch in Greece and payroll administration in the UK.
Where we’re going
We’re now entering the most exciting chapter in our journey so far: Fairlo is becoming a bank. In line with new legislation and our long-term vision, this step will allow us to drive innovation, scale responsibly, expand our offering, and create fair and transparent financial products that support our customers throughout every stage of their lives.
Becoming a bank means raising the bar across every part of our business - and finance is no exception. To succeed, we need robust accounting processes, flawless reporting, and rock-solid compliance. That’s where you come in.
Are you our new Senior Finance Manager?
As our new Senior Finance Manager, you will take a central and hands-on role in the day-to-day financial operations of the Fairlo group. You’ll ensure our financial reporting, accounting processes and treasury routines are accurate, efficient, and well-documented - while continuously improving them to support our transition to becoming a bank.
You will work closely with our Finance Manager (daily accounting operations) and our Head of Finance (overall financial management, controls, reporting and governance). Together, you’ll ensure that Fairlo maintains a solid financial foundation - while you personally stay close to the numbers, the systems, and the daily execution.
This is a hands-on and highly structured role, perfect for someone who thrives in detail, but also wants to be part of building something bigger: a modern bank founded on flexibility and transparency
Some of the things you’ll do:
Ensure timely and compliant accounting and reporting across the Fairlo group, in accordance with IFRS (including IFRS 9 for credit institutions) and local regulations.
Lead monthly closing processes and ensure accurate group and entity reporting, including tax declarations, entity and group annual reports, and audits (end-to-end).
Manage monthly reconciliations (including portfolio reconciliation with external debt providers), ensure internal controls are followed and documented, and work with the Finance Manager to keep our processes efficient.
Maintain, develop and implement accounting principles, routines, manuals and policies, ensuring new and existing products are correctly accounted for. This includes transfer pricing setup for the group.
Provide internal stakeholders with accurate and timely accounting guidance.
Support and act as a backup to the Finance Manager with daily operational tasks and ad-hoc tasks when needed.
Prepare and validate financial inputs for regulatory reporting (e.g. COREP/FINREP/SCB and other required reports), together with Risk when needed.
Support short-term liquidity and treasury management, contribute to balance sheet and P&L forecasting, and take part in long-term planning and budgeting.
Drive improvements in accounting systems and processes to enhance accuracy, transparency and efficiency.
Your team:
Finance Manager: responsible for daily finance operations of the entire group, covering financial accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payments, monthly account reconciliations, payroll, taxes, assistance in annual reports and audits, and other financial administration.
Head of Finance: responsible for the overall financial management of the group, with focus on accounting quality, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and liquidity strategy, regulatory coordination, and driving strategic finance initiatives and governance.
You’ll be the senior accounting and compliance expert within the finance team, continuously improving routines and ensuring regulatory compliance. Each of us takes ownership of our area - you’ll work hands-on while leading the accounting and reporting backbone, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement, while also collaborating closely on treasury, controls, and strategic initiatives. You’ll also be fully capable of performing all daily accounting activities yourself - from journal entries and reconciliations to payments and reporting - ensuring continuity, flexibility, and deep understanding of every part of our financial operations.
As Fairlo continues to grow and transitions into a bank, this role may also evolve toward broader leadership or specialist responsibilities within the finance function.
