Jacob Holmedahl
Senior Finance Manager – FinanceMeet Jacob, our Senior Finance Manager
You've spent more than a decade working in finance, accounting to CFO roles and leading finance teams. What is it about finance that keeps you motivated?
For me, it's the combination of detail and impact. On one hand, finance requires precision - the numbers need to be right. On the other hand, those same numbers tell the story of a company and influence some of its most important decisions. I've always enjoyed bringing order to complexity. Whether it's improving a process, understanding what's driving a result, or building a reporting structure that helps us make better decisions. When finance is working well, it gives the entire company confidence to move forward.
You've worked in startups, scale-ups, fintechs and regulated financial institutions. What have those experiences taught you?
That growth and control aren't opposites - they're partners. The fastest-moving companies I've worked with weren't the ones that ignored structure. They were the ones that built the right structure at the right time. As organisations grow, finance becomes less about reporting what happened and more about helping the business make smart decisions about what happens next.
What are you most looking forward to right now?
Being part of the journey ahead. Fairlo is at a stage where a lot is happening at once - new opportunities, new challenges, and a lot of building. Those are usually the most rewarding periods in a company's life. But more than anything, I'm looking forward to getting to know the team. Great companies are built by great people, and from my first conversations with Fairlo, it was clear that there's a culture of ownership, trust and collaboration here. I'm excited to contribute, learn from others, and help build the next chapter together.
