What do you do at Fairlo?

I’m a Backend Engineer focusing on cloud technologies. My role is about designing and building the systems that keep Fairlo’s platform secure, scalable, and efficient - making sure everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes so our users can experience simplicity on the surface.

What makes working with the cloud exciting to you?

The cloud is an ever-evolving space - it’s where creativity meets precision. I love how it challenges you to think bigger, to build smarter systems that can adapt, learn, and grow. There’s something fascinating about working on technology that scales in real time and enables innovation every single day.

You are also a PhD candidate in Computer Science - how does that influence your work

Working on my PhD, definitely shapes the way I handle my day-to-day life. It keeps me curious, pushes me to ask better questions and helps me break down problems in a clearer, more structured way. It also allows me to be more open to experimenting and trying new ideas and concepts. This mix of research and hands-on engineering keeps me sharp and gives me different perspectives when building things with the team. Research is all about curiosity, persistence, and exploring different perspectives - and that mindset translates perfectly to engineering. At Fairlo, I get to apply that way of thinking to real-world challenges, turning ideas into systems that help people.

What are you most excited about in the future?

The pace of change in technology is incredible - from AI-driven systems to smarter cloud infrastructure, there’s so much potential ahead. I’m excited to keep learning and evolving with it, to build solutions that are not just technically advanced but meaningful in how they serve people. And of course, I’m looking forward to growing with Fairlo - contributing to a team that combines innovation with a strong purpose, and being part of shaping what fair and transparent finance can look like in the future.
