The Fairlo story began thirty years ago with the family of our founders Jimmy and Shamon fleeing political turmoil and ending up in Sweden. Struggling to give her children all that they desired, Jimmy and Shamon’s mother took a small unsecured loan. It seemed like a good deal but it quickly turned sour as the loan increased in size in spite of the continuous payments. Much later, having grown up, the two brothers revisited this incident and it became the spark that ignited the Fairlo vision. The fact that a trusted bank took predatory advantage of their family, when they were the most vulnerable, became the starting point of a quest to create a fair credit service. Since the start about six years ago, we've been working tirelessly to live up to the vision of an honest and easy-to-understand credit service. Without toxic terms, sneaky fine print, and nasty surprises.

What you’ll do

As a Frontend Engineer with a React focus, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality, scalable, and efficient web applications. You’ll be responsible for developing modern UIs that are fast, responsive, and delightful to use.

• Develop robust and maintainable frontend applications using React and modern tooling.

• Ensure performance, responsiveness, and usability across devices and browsers.

• Continuously explore and apply new technologies to improve the quality and speed of development.

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver intuitive and polished features.

What we are looking for

Our frontend tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Vite, Next.js, Tanstack Query, Zustand, Styled Components, Storybook, Vitest, and more.

Requirements

Must-have:

• At least 2 years of experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks (Vue, Angular, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Solid understanding of UI/UX best practices and design patterns.

• Experience writing clean, readable, and test-covered code.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Business-level English proficiency.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and team-first attitude.
  
  

Nice-to-have:

• University or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience with the React ecosystem: Tanstack Query (react-query), Storybook, Styled Components, Testing Library, etc.

• Experience with headless CMS platforms like Sanity or Strapi.

• Familiarity with bug tracking and session replay tools (e.g., Sentry, Logrocket, Fullstory).

• Fluency in Greek or Swedish.
